Grocery pickup has FINALLY arrived in my hometown. And let me tell you, I cannot be more excited!!
I get it, a lot of people think it’s the lazy way out. I’m here to tell you differently!
Every week, I spend approximately 2 hours grocery shopping. Normally, I don’t have a list and I’m just winging it. I’m not always sure what I want, so I end up going down every aisle. Even when I get there at 7am, there are still crowds to fight.
When I finally think I have everything, I remember I have forgotten something on the other side of the store! Then the dreaded checkout line. I literally spend 20-30 minutes waiting in line every week!!!
With grocery pick up, I now have more time to spend with my children. As a working mom, I value the extra time with them.
It has also helped me cut down on my grocery bill. I now can add items to my cart throughout the week, and keep track of my total as I go. It has eliminated impulse buys.
I’m sure there are some negatives, but the positive far out weigh the negatives for me!
I have been struggling to find a meal replacement shake that I like and that is within my budget.
I drank Shakeology for 6 months, and I loved it! Unfortunately, with 2 small boys in daycare, Shakeology is just not in my budget.
I have done some research, and I have seen great reviews for FitMiss.
I went out and bought a tub of it. I had a light dinner and had a shake tonight.
I bought the Chocolate Delight and mixed it with unsweetened almond milk and some PB2. The taste wasn’t bad. It does not taste as great as Shakeology, but I feel I can get past it.
I will try blending it tomorrow to see how it tastes with a banana and some ice added as well!!
Part of my journey is swapping out my bad foods with better options.
One food that I used to always love was cheesy potatoes, but potatoes area food I wanted to cut back on.
Zucchini Au Gratin was on the menu this past week. It was delicious. Even the husband was a fan!
2 Large Zucchinis
1 Red Onion
1 tsp of Garlic (I used jarred)
2 Tbsp Butter
1/2 Heavy Cream
Shredded Cheese (I used Colby Jack)
First, saute cut up red onion with the butter and the garlic. Add the sliced zucchini, heavy cream, 1/2 of Parmesan cheese, and salt & pepper to taste. Let this cook on medium heat for about 6-8 minutes or until the mixture is bubbling. Transfer to a baking pan. Add the remaining Parmesan cheese and the shredded cheese to the top. Cook on 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
It’s that easy! It was quick and delicious! 🙂
